Meaning: O goddess Ganga! You are the goddess of all the demi-gods. O Bhagavati! You are the saviour of all the three worlds, pure in the form of a flowing river and resider on the head of Lord Shiv. O mother! May my mind always remain engrossed in your lotus feet.
A divine Shrimad Bhagavat by Pujya Bhaishri was organised by Vaishvik Sanskruti Parivar at the divine place of the origin of Maa Ganga, Gangotri, based in the Himalayas, from 7th May to 13th May 2018.
On one hand Maa Ganga was flowing in the form of a river and on the other hand Maa Ganga was flowing in the form of a speech as Shrimad Bhagavat. These divine moments felt like the trinity Gods as well as all the demi-Gods were present there. Both Gangas flowing at the time were providers of emancipation.
On the first day, the divine Shobha Yatra with Shrimad Bhagavat Pothiji commenced from the temple of Maa Ganga and reached the Katha pavilion amidst the singing of God’s name. This was followed by the worshipping of the scripture by the hosts of the Katha: Shri Neelam Prashant Baldev and family, Shri R. N. Jha, Shri Gauriben Vijayji Goyal and the sponsor of all the meals, Shri Bajranglal Tapariaji and family.
Many Saints and sages present including Param Pujya Ganeshdasji Maharaj, Param Pujya Raghavendranandra Saraswatiji Maharaj, the priests blessed by Gangotri Dham and Shri Panditji Sureshji Somvaal based in Gangotri. Shri Somvaalji also gave a welcome speech.
From the dawn of the second day, heavy snow showers were experienced by all. Despite the cold and adverse weather for two days, the devotees continued to enjoy the Katha whilst immersing themselves in the bliss of the Katha and the beautiful mountains covered with snow.
At the same time 32 hosts completed the worshipping of 32 pothijis by our Sandipani Rishikumars. It was extremely pleasing to see that a Muslim family from Mahuva, India, hosted the recitation of Shrimad Bhagavat amongst the 32 hosts.
The entire seven day Katha was telecast live on Sanskar TV in India. The arrival and manifestation of Lord Krishna and the worship of Shri Girirajji were celebrated with great enthusiasm by all. All present participated in the Katha in the mornings, whilst in the afternoons, the recitation of Shrimad Bhagavat was completed by our Sandipani Rishikumars from 3pm.
During the Katha, Pujya Bhaishri visited the Pandav cave situated 1.5km from Gangotri. A greatly detached sage, Shri Tyagiji Sitaramsharandasji, resides there throughout the year, who also listened to the entire Bhagavat Katha by Pujya Bhaishri. Shri Tyagiji’s appearance is indeed very divine and he welcomed Pujya Bhaishri with great love. Pujya Bhaishri was very pleased to visit this divine sage. On the way to the Pandav cave, Pujya Bhaishri also did darshan of Suryakumd and Gaurikund.

Pujya Bhaishri’s first Katha in Gangotri was in 1990. At that time, he had resided at Dandi Ashram. Pujya Bhaishri visited Dandi Ashram once again. He also paid his obeisances to an extraordinary great person, Sunderanandji at his residence.
Immense support was provided by Param Pujya Shri Raghavendranand Saraswatiji Maharaj, a saint filled with love. He listened to the entire Katha with a group of ascetics and sages. In addition, he organised Pujya Bhaishri’s stay at his ashram, lshavasyam, exceptionally well.
This Katha was attended by over 900 people from all over the world. Despite the cold and adverse weather, it was greatly enjoyed by all. Gangotri Katha was a unique experience indeed!
