A very Happy Deepavali to you all! During this Deepavali and to start our New Year, Pujya Bhaishri enlightens us on how we should not follow the thoughts of Ravan in abducting the wealth of others and what the true worship of Lakshmiji is:
We never perceive Lakshmiji as unrespectable or inferior. We always worship Lakshmiji in the form of the respectable wife of Lord Vishnu. Not only do we worship Lakshmiji, but also, we do not seize the wealth of others like Dashanan/ Ravan.
A city of gold must not be built on the foundation of injustice. If this is the case, the city will be known as Lanka. Whether it is a gold city built from wealth earned wrongly or rightfully, it’s destruction is inevitable. This is because the demise of anything created is definite.
However, we will be able to enjoy wealth that has been earned righteously with peace and love. Wealth that has been earned unjustly will never provide happiness and peace. In fact, one who gathers wealth wrongly will not even get the time to enjoy it.
The thoughts of Ravan of merely enjoying pleasures in life and abduction are still spreading today. Ravan, at least managed to use his wealth but today, people do not even have the time to enjoy their riches. Such people only seize and continue to accumulate wealth.
If we earn additional wealth, will we eat more than we normally do? On the other hand, it is possible that in the greed to earn more and more, we may begin to eat less!
Therefore, think calmly, who is all this wealth for and why? The thoughts of Ravan are those of injustice. Following them to fulfil our desires to earn wealth anyhow is the cause of increasing unhappiness in life.
We are responsible for the actions we perform. We are the creators of our own happiness and unhappiness. Hence, let us kindle the light of knowledge and brighten our lives.
