23rd Anniversary Celebrations of Sandipani Vidyaniketan
The 23rd Anniversary of Sandipani Vidyaniketan (Shri Babadwshwar Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya) was celebrated on 16th January, 2007. The celebrations included various intellectual and sports competitions. The intellectual competitions comprised of Sutra Antyakshari, Shloka Antyakshari, Sanskrit Conversations, Siddhant Kaumudi Shalaka, etc. The sports competitions included the games of Cricket, Volleyball, Kho Kho, etc.
The Sutra Antyakshri entails the recitation of Panini sutras starting with the last alphabet of the previous sutra. Similarly Shloka Antyakshari comprises of reciting the Shloka starting with the last alphabet of previous shloka. Three groups were formed viz. (1) Prathama, (2) Madhyama and (3) Shastri for these competitions. In the Prathama group of Sutra Antyakshari Hardik M. Rajyaguru won the first prize, Jayesh M. Vyas won the second prize and Ronak P. Joshi won the third prize. In the Madhyama group Utpal K. Dave won the first prize, Rahul A. Shukla won the second prize and Ravi K. Arambhadia won the third prize. In the Shastri group Vanraj K. Joshi won the first prize, Ketan B. Similarly in the Shloka Antyakshari, in the Prathama group, Jayesh M. Vyas won the first prize, Ashutosh R. Jani won second prize and Harshit B. Shukla won the third prize. In the Madhyama group; Tejas P. Trivedi won the first prize, Rahul A. Shukla won the second prize and Manish P. Mehta won the third prize. In the Shastri group Nikunj R. Dave won the first prize, Nitin M. Pandya won the second prize and Sagar D. dave won the third prize.
In the Siddhant Kaumudi Shalaka competition, Siddhant Kaumudi composed by Panini is studied by heart and questions are randomly asked from the prescribed course. In this competition Neerav K. Thaker won first prize, Devang K. Bhatt won second prize and Paresh M. Joshi won the third prize.
The sports competitions were held on the Sandipani Playground. The inauguration of the sports festival was done by the teachers of the Sandipani Vidyalaya. Shri Madhusudanbhai Mehta, the Managing Trustee of the trust remained present as the Chief Guest. Eight teams participated in the Cricket tournament. The Shiva Shakti Eleven team of Madhyama won the first prize. Jayanti Mehta was the captain of this team. Tejas P. Trivedi won the title of the Man of the Match for final as match as also the Man of the Series award.
Adyashakti team of Shastri Pratham (F. Y. B. A.) won the Volleyball tournament. Yagnesh P. Taraiyya was awarded the Best player award. In Kho Kho the Vasudev team of Madhyama – Pratham 11th emerged as the winning team and Dharmesh Ravaiyya was awarded the Best Player award.
A homatmak Laghu Rudra Yagnya was performed in the new Yagnyashala of Sandipani Vidyaniketan on the Anniversary day. A Laghurudra Abhishek was performed on Mahadevji in Shri Hari Mandir. Abhishek was also performed on Shri Babadeshwar Mahadev Shivling. The Vidyalaya was named as Shri Babadeshwar Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya. This Shiva temple is situated in a small village called Babada. When the School was in its infant stage Rishikumars studied under the tree over here. Then under the guidance of Pujya Bhaishri the institute gradually grew bigger and bigger. The students also performed a yagnya of reciting Sundarkand. The Vice President of the trust Shri Mansukhbhai Joshi was the host of this yagnya.
