Shrimad Bhagavat Katha at Dhrung, Kutch, the divine land of Shri Sant Mekran
Dhrung, the place where the famous ascetic Dada Sant Mekran practised austerities hosted Pujya Bhaishri’s Bhagavat Gyan Yagya from 17th to 24th March 2013. It is believed that Sant Mekran was an incarnation of Shri Lakshmanji, the younger brother of Lord Shri Ram. Sant Mekran lived in Dhrung with his 2 dogs named Lalio and Motio. He offered food to all travellers who travelled by this place.
On the first day of the katha, the Shobha Yatra of the Pothiji set out from the samadhi temple of Sant Mekran and reached the katha venue. The hosts of this katha, Shri Tarachandbhai Cheda and Shri Vasanbhai Ahir performed the worship of the Pothiji. After the lighting of the auspicious lamp and welcome speech, Pujya Bhaishri commenced the narration of Shri Bhagavat katha. On the first day he described the virtues of Sant Mekran and the importance of Shrimad Bhagavat.
The eight days of the katha were combined with in-depth explanations from the Bhagavat and ancient bhajans by famous saints including the famous bhajan: ‘Sayaji ne malva chalone sakhi jaiye shunya maa re‘. During the katha, Pujya Bhaishri said that realising one’s spiritual self, one’s soul, is the true communion with Shri Hari. We search for God outside but he dwells within us. He is not outside.
Many saints and dignitaries came to listen to this divine and blissful Bhagavat katha.
