People of Beawar, Rajasthan participate in Shrimad Bhagavat Katha and Clean India campaign by Pujya Bhaishri

Pujya Bhaishri narrated a divine Shrimad Bhagavat Katha in Beawar, Rajasthan, from 12 December to 18 December 2014, hosted by the family of Manakchandji Agrawal Jindal Bartanwala. The Shobha Yatra commenced on the first day from the temple of Shri Sati Ranidadi. The streets of Beawar reverberated with enchanting sounds of God’s name sung by thousands of devotees assembled for the procession.

At the beginning of the katha Pujya Bhaishri said that our love for Lord Krishna is strengthened by listening to the Shrimad Bhagavat Katha. Only love for Shri Krishna liberates one from worldly attachments. Love for Shri Krishna is attained through listening, contemplating and reflecting on Him.

Pujya Bhaishri greatly focused on the current issues during the katha. He said, “Conversion is a great sin. Selfish people have entered into politics who are causing harm to the society in order to achieve their selfish motives”. Pujya Bhaishri observed a two minute silence for those who had lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Peshawar, Pakistan.

In addition to the katha, on 15 December, Pujya Bhaishri, the brand ambassador of Gujarat for the Clean India campaign, began cleaning from the Bharat Mata circle in Beawar to Teja Chowk, Teliyan Mohalla and Subhash Udyan for three hours. Well known saints – Sant Kewalram, Sant Vijayram and Sant Gopalram also joined Pujya Bhaishri to spread National awareness. The saints not only wielded brooms to clean the area but also picked up the litter gathered by them and placed it in the waste bins. Also, members of the Prabhat Pheri Parivar joined in whilst singing God’s name.

Pujya Bhaishri spoke to the youth that they should keep their town as clean as their homes. Maintaining cleanliness will keep people healthy and free from illnesses. He advised the youth to become role models and inspire others. He said that the youths can bring about a change in the country. Hence, they should take the country in a new direction with their strong will power and positive outlook. Just as the people of other countries fulfil their responsibilities, we too should realise our responsibilities towards our country.

At Subhash Udyan, Pujya Bhaishri spoke to the women responsible for cleaning toilets and said, “You are performing a virtuous job. People who lift the litter are better people in the society while those who leave the place unclean are dirty. Therefore I too have joined your community today.” Pujya Bhaishri then inquired about their children’s’ education. He advised them equally educate girls and boys.

Pujya Bhaishri became emotional while talking to Pradeep, an employee for keeping the toilets clean. Pradeep said that he had studied up to standard seven but could not continue his education due to poverty. Pujya Bhaishri reiterated to him that service was the true worship of God which is why God loves people like him.

Thereafter, Pujya Bhaishri visited the Food distributing home run by the Jindal family where he served food to the less unfortunate. While distributing rotis and ladoos and chatting to people, Kailash, a boy having his meals there, informed Pujya Bhaishri that he was illiterate and worked in a shop as a labourer. Bhaishri advised him to do his job sincerely. Thereafter, Pujya Bhaishri paid Rs. 500 to Nathulal Sen who was working at the water hut operating in the garden after drinking some water.

While cleaning the streets, Pujya Bhaishri went to Pushkar Chaiwala, Om Prakash Kachauriwala and other shopkeepers and advised them to ensure that their surroundings were not littered. He also asked them to keep waste bins near their shops so that the streets were kept clean.

From there, Pujya Bhaishri went to Bichadli pond and expressed grave concern at the condition of the pond. He said that even though we talk about protecting rivers, the conditions of our ponds is worse. He talked with the speaker Babita Chauhan who was present on that occasion and provided his suggestions. He said that ponds were the lifeline and reputation of the towns. Hence it is our duty to protect them. We should realise our responsibility and protect them from getting polluted. People should use eco-friendly idols to celebrate festivals and suitable arrangements should be made for the disposal of waste and litter. Efforts should be made to ensure that the sewage water of the town did not mix with the pond water. Business community should help in beautification of the town.

Dignitaries like MLA Shankar Singh Rawat, Commissioner Murarilal Verma, Speaker Babita Chauhan, Speaker Sunil Mundra, BJP Gen. Secretary Ramesh Bansal, Sadhana Saraswat, Councillor Uma Khandelwal, Kaushalya Tungariya, Puja Kumawat, Hardikbhai, Vimalbhai, Manakchand Jindal, Ashok Kumar, Vijay Bahadur, Shyamsundar Jindal, Kamal Jindal, Gaurav, Nitesh, Ajay, Alok Gupta, Manak Dani, Mahendra Salemabadi, Sumit Saraswat, Gopal Sharma, Sanjay Garg and many other members connected with various social and religious organisations joined the cleanliness drive of the saints.

Thus the people of Rajasthan not only gained bliss from the katha filled with devotion but also participating in service of the country and therefore God.
