Shrimad Bhagavat Katha in Nairobi – An Inspiration for the Youth
A divine Shrimad Bhagavat Katha by Pujya Bhaishri was meticulously organised after many years in Nairobi, Kenya, from 16 July to 23 July 2014, by Shri Mahendrabhai and Indiraben Patel.
On the first day, the Shobha Yatra began from Shri Sanatan Dharma temple amidst young girls carrying auspicious decorated pots and devotees singing kirtan until the katha venue.
Pujya Bhaishri began the katha by explaining the importance of the Shrimad Bhagavat, whereby through various examples, he enlightened the youth on the definition of Dharma (religion). He also elucidated on our values, the significance of the traditions passed on to us by our ancestors and the importance of our scriptures.
Shri Krishna janma, Shri Goverdhan Pooja and Shri Rukmini vivah were celebrated with great fanfare. During the katha, Pujya Bhaishri visited various sites including the national park, strawberry farm and temples in Nairobi.
Thereafter, Pujya Bhaishri travelled to Tanzania, Madagascar and Mauritius where he covered the importance of a temple, significance of Lord Shiv and the value of satsang during Shravan month, in his brief discourses.
The entire travel in Africa was not only a great experience for Pujya Bhaishri, but also left devotees hugely inspired.
