“What is corruption?” explains Pujya Bhaishri in Shrimad Bhagavat Katha at Varanasi
As part of completing his resolution on performing a Laxchandi yagya, Param Pujya Mahamandaleshwar Shri Prakharji Maharaj of Varanasi also organized a Shrimad Bhagavat katha by Pujya Bhaishri 8 February to 15 February 2015. This katha was organized in a rural area located at a short distance from Varanasi town. This enabled the rural folks to avail of the opportunity to hear Pujya Bhaishri’s katha. The katha was conducted in single sessions held daily and was relayed live over the Shraddha channel. Devotees from across the world came to hear this katha. The governor of UP, Shri Ram Naikji and other celebrated saints remained present at the inaugural function of this katha.
In this katha, Pujya Bhaishri laid a special emphasis on the issue of corruption. He said, “The entire country is burning in a blazing fire of corruption. Its flames are spreading in all directions. Corruption is not just related to the nation or politics; when impurities creep in our conduct, which should be virtuous and pure, this is also corruption. No place is free from corruption in the current times be it, religion, business or politics”.
“Although its absolute elimination may not be possible we certainly can save ourselves from it. This can be done through self-awakening and self-enlightenment. Fear of God and expectations of the society can be useful in enabling the society to rid itself of this monster and be successful”.
Pujya Bhaishri further said that God always dwells where thoughts and actions are pure. Katha is not just a religious ritual. It is the mirror that reflects the society. The dirt that grips our society will only be cleaned by holding such spiritual congregations. The need of the hour is for social awakening.
The manifestation of Lord Shri Krishna was celebrated with great fanfare on the 5th day of katha. A poet gathering and performance was also organized at night. The poets who participated included Rahat Indouri, Sampat Saral, Pramod Tiwari, Parwaz, Vinay Vishwas, Buddhisen Sharma and Sushri Sita Sagar.
Let us all aim to remove the corruption within us and therefore the society through the learnings from this divine Shrimad Bhagavat Katha by Pujya Bhaishri.
