Shrimad Bhagavat Katha Starts at Latur: Purity Versus Intellect

Shrimad Bhagavat Katha by Pujya Bhaishri in Latur, Maharashtra, India, commenced on 14th December 2018. The pavilion was filled with devoted mothers on the first day as Pujya Bhaishri narrates the Katha after 16 years in Latur.

Pujya Bhaishri talked about the importance of the intellect and how this can be achieved, on day 1 of Latur Bhagavat Katha. A brief summary is provided below:

Today, there is no lack of intellect in the world but there is a lack of purity. Purity, not intellect, is necessary for enlightenment. Today, the intellect of people is focused more on destruction rather than creation. Life does not wear out anyone but the intellect does.

Some intellectuals are only involved in investigations and bad-mouthing the darkness in life. Some intellectuals are not progressive whilst some have progressed in the wrong direction. If only they could think of lighting a lamp for a moment!

So how can the intellect be purified? Purification of the intellect is only possible via satsang.  You do not lack energy but lack understanding. Be both hardworking and reflective so that you can help the world who in turn will be grateful to you.
