On July 19th 2004, the city of Toronto witnessed the unveiling of the statue of Shri Krishnashankar Shastriji the great Indian scholar, affectionately addressed as Pujya Dadaji (Revered Grandpapa) by his innumerable followers and admirers. With Pujya Bhaishri, the Mayor of Markham and the saints of Swaminarayan Temple graced this auspicious occasion, hosted by the Sanatan Mandir Cultural Centre. Pujya Dadaji’s Grandson Shri Bhagwat Rishi and his devotee Shri Ram Ram were also present at this function.
Unveiling the statue Pujya Bhaishri paid rich tribute to the late Scholar saying: “Pujya Dadaji’s contribution to the preservation and propagation of Indian Culture will be remembered gratefully forever. It is impossible to describe in words his contribution to culture and his Legacy.”
Pujya Bhaishri further said that our life is a battle and our idols and temples help in reminding us of Guru and God. Such religious centres and the idols prevent us from straying from our path.
