Shrimad Bhagavat Katha at Itarasi, Madhya Pradesh began on 24th February 2019. The Shobha Yatra commenced from Shri Dwarkadhish temple with thousands of people joining. Shri Bhagavatji reached the Katha venue amongst faithful chanting of God’s name. The Chief host of the Katha, Shri H.L. Agrawal and family then worshipped Shrimad Bhagavat.

Thoughts shared by Pujya Bhaishri on Days 1 and 2 are shared below.

Day 1 – Advise to my daughters

On day 1, Pujya Bhaishri provided the following advice to girls.

I want to tell girls/my daughters here today that gain education, work hard and progress, but also remember that when you get married, accept the ways and changes in lifestyle wherever you go. Just like we accept the rules when we go to a different country, similarly, accept the rules in the household you go to.

The wife should respect her husband and the husband should give love to his wife. This way life will progress well for both.

The husband earns a living whilst the wife is responsible in maintaining relationships. This is what we also learn from the family life of Lord Krishna.

Day 2- Only one solution to protect ourselves from Kaliyug

On Day 2, Pujya Bhaishri explained the current deteriorating state of Kaliyug and the solution to protect ourself from it.

We are currently living in the age of Kaliyug. There is lack of implementation of Dharma (righteousness) and lack of care to attain emancipation. Hinduism talks of the four aims of the human life which people disregard. People speak harsh words in this day and age.

Due to the effect of Kaliyug, girls are being marketed/sold in the name of marriage. The girl’s family is asked what they will give as dowry before the wedding takes place. Girls are killed in a mother’s womb which is causing an imbalance in the ratio between boys and girls.

Tradesmen are seen in pilgrimages, we have polluted our divine rivers and holy places, there is no tolerance in ascetics and there is a lack of Yogis. Kaliyug has caused vast damage.

At such a time, in order to be saved and protected from this, there is only one solution: refuge in Shrimad Bhagavat.
