Pujya Bhaishri graces inauguration of Patanjali Yogapeeth in Haridwar, Uttranchal, India
The first phase of the sprawling Patanjali Yogapeeth the center of Yoga, Ayurveda Chiktsa and Anusandhan was inaugurated amidst the presence of many saints and political leaders including Pujya Bhaishri on the 4th of April 2006. The Patanjali Yogpeeth is a wonderful and unique center of spiritual development. This Yogpeeth is the fructification of the ceaseless endeavours of Param Yogacharya Shri Ramdevji Maharaj.
‘Yoga’, the word that is instrumental in making life healthy is formed form the root ‘Yujir’. Shri Ramdevji Maharaj has founded this Patanjali Yogapeeth with the purpose of making Yoga available to all people so that all people can become healthy and free from ailments. The galaxy of saints who graced the occasion and conveyed their blessings, included Sri Sri Ravishankarji Maharaj the propounder of The Art of Living, Shri Satyamitranandji Maharaj the founder of the Bharat Mata Mandir in Haridwar, Swami Chidanandji Saraswati of Rishikesh, Shri Asharam Bapu, Shri Vijay Kaushalji, Shri Hansdasji Maharaj, Shri Brahmaswarup Brahmachariji, Pujya Karshni Gurusharananandji Maharaj, Shri Harichetananandji Maharaj and others.
Pujya Bhaishri in his speech said: “Shariramadyam khalu sadhanam” i.e. Our body is the instrument with which we have to accomplish Dharma. What is Dharma? Goswami Tulsidasji says: “Parhit saris Dharam nahi bhai” i.e. There is no better religion than doing good to other people. That is true religion means serving other people. But when can we serve other people? We can serve other people only when our body is healthy and free from ailments. Therefore our body is said to be the instrument. In our tradition both the aim and the instrument are worshipped alike. The body is also worshipped. It is worshipped through Yoga and exercise. The Patanjali Yogpeeth will be teaching that Yoga.
Many political leaders also graced the occasion which included Shri Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, the Governor of Uttaranchal Shri Agrawalji, Shri Ashok Singhal, Shri K.C. Sudarshanji and others.
