The relationship of Guru and a Shishya or disciple has a special significance in Indian tradition. A Shishya always holds his Guru on high regards. He expresses his gratitude every year on Guru Purnima Day. On this very auspicious day he worships his Guru and makes fresh commitments to abide by all orders and directives given by the Guru.

This tradition is regularly and dedicatedly preserved at the Sandipani Vidyaniketan. Since Pujya Bhaishri was away and not present at the Sandipani Vidyaniketan, the Rishikumars or students paid respects to his photograph Accordingly this year too all the Rishikumars offered their floral respects to the photograph of Pujya Bhaishri and performed the Pujan of their teachers. On this occasion, Vedic chants and bhajans of Guru mahima were recited and speeches on the ancient and modern teaching systems were very enlighteningly narrated by the students on topics such as the importance of a Guru’s guidance in building one’s life and career, Guru Purnima, etc.

Respected Bobadeji Guruji addressed the gathering. In his address he emphasized the importance of schooling days in our lives, saying that one’s student life laid the foundation of one’s future course of life. Hence students should cultivate qualities like discipline, inquisitiveness, obedience and service at this basic level. Finally the teachers blessed all the students.
