Shri Gautam Buddha created a revolution with his teachings as he taught us to fight our internal wars rather than physically fighting battles with weapons. He executed his ideas through the word of scriptures.

He often said that our enemies are not those that attack us from outside, our real enemies reside within ourselves. We have many weapons to deal with these internal enemies and we should wield them as required.

Hate should be fought with love and anger should be attacked with the weapon of peace. Non-violence and brotherhood should be used as cooling streams to consecrate the fire of violence.

In order to progress in our life, we should climb the steps of friendship, kindness and brotherhood. Shri Gautam Buddha spoke about spreading the message of comradeship overall across humanity. He insisted that we must do away with the feelings of hatred and discrimination and instead, instil empathy and benevolence in our hearts.

Great leaders and learned men have appeared from time to time to guide us in the right path. When we are able to establish feelings of love and affection towards each other, we are filled with peace which leads to a constant state of bliss. This bliss pervades our senses, eventually emanates from within us and thereby, creates an atmosphere that holds the vibrations of happiness. The feelings of hate, jealousy and discrimination are automatically got rid of and one does not have to make any effort to wrestle with these negative emotions.

Although 2,500 years have passed since the advent of Gautam Buddha, his essence still continues to manifest itself. His teachings are still relevant in today’s age but it is up to us to decide whether we want to follow them. The choice is ours: do we want war or peace? If we adopt this message of Shri Gautam Buddha, our lives will be filled with love and all existence will become a celebration.
