Bhagavan Shri Krishna’s birthday falls on Shravan sud aatham according to the Indian calendar. To celebrate Janmashtami, the Rishikumars of Sandipani Vidyaniketan recited the tenth chapter of the Shrimad Bhagavat from 11pm to midnight on the day. Thereafter, Lord Shri Krishna’s birthday was celebrated with great excitement. Bhagavan Bal Krishna was bathed in panchamrut and the prasaddistributed to all devotees.
The next morning from 8am to 9am, dhvaja rohan (hoisting of the sacred flag) was carried out on the dome of Shri Hari Mandir, in the presence of the host Shri Rajendrabhai Paradiya. Thereafter, Nand mahotsav was celebrated with great fanfare and energy until 8pm. All visitors and devotees enjoyed doing darshan of Shri Bal Krishna and swinging him in his beautiful cot.
