Sandipani awarded the State trophy at the Sanskrit educational competition
The National Sanskrit Institute, Delhi, and the Sanskrit Sahitya Academy, Gandhinagar, jointly
organised a three day, Gujarat state level, Sanskrit Educational Competition from 30th November to 2nd December 2013 at Bharati Ashram, Junagadh. Shri Bhupendrabhai Chudasama, Education minister of Gujarat, Pujya Shri Bharati Bapu, many saints and leading educationists graced the inaugural function of this competition.
A total of 144 students from 15 different Sanskrit schools of Gujarat participated of which 21 were Rishikumars of Sandipani Vidyaniketan. Various contests were held including Grammar, Literature, Vedant, Astrology, Nyaya, Sankhya, Reciting Ashtadhyayi by heart and Shlok antakshari. Learned Sanskrit Scholars of Gujarat were the judges for these contests.
The closing ceremony on 2nd December 2013 was chaired by Pujya Shri Madhavpriyadasji Maharaj of Chharodi, Ahmedabad. The other dignitaries who graced the occasion included Honourable Shri Kutumbshastriji, Chancellor of Somnath Sanskrit University, Verawal, Pujya Shri Bharati Bapu, Honourable Shri Bharatbhai Gajipara and other leading saints of Mount Girnar.
With great pride, 19 Rishikumars of Sandipani won various competitions. Eight Rishikmars won Gold medals, nine won silver medals and three won the Bronze medals. The dignitaries present at the competitions were greatly impressed by the brilliance of the Rishikumars and complimented them.
The school which has the most number of medals won by the students in this competition is presented a trophy. Consequently, this year, two trophies were awarded to Darshanam Sanskrit Mahavidyalay of Chharodi and Babadeshwar Sanskrit Mahavidyalay of Sandipani who achieved a tie by winning 44 points each.
On arriving at Sandipani, Pujya Bhaishri, the teachers of Sandipani and the trustees conveyed their blessings and congratulated to the Rishikumars for their great achievement.
