Bhagavat Katha flows to Dungar, Gujarat, India
The Shrimad Bhagavat Katha at Dungar commenced on 14th May 2006. It was organized by Shrimad Bhagavat Saptah Samiti – Dungar. The Chief host of the Katha was Shri Danabhai Khimabhai Fafadawala. The main purpose of organizing this katha was to build a student’s hostel. This was the third occasion of hosting the Shrimad Bhagavat Katha in the vicinity of Dungar. The significance of Dungar is that Pujya Bhaishri had completed his primary education in this town of Dungar which is at a distance of 5 Kilometers from Devaka the birthplace of Pujya Bhaishri.
A grand Shobha yatra of Pothiji commenced at 3 p.m. on 14th May. Beautifully adorned camels, elephants, bulls and horses were included in the Shobha yatra which passed through the different parts of the town so that everybody could do darshan of the Pothiji. The Pothiji was welcomed at the katha marquee by women carrying kalashas .
The assembled saints lit the auspicious lamp at the beginning of the katha. Commencing the divine katha Pujya Bhaishri said that God is present in the Satyalok, Kailash, Vaikunth, etc. But the Katha of God is not there in those places. Katha is only available upon this earth. Therefore, Oh! fortunate brothers and sisters prevent your precious lives from being wasted by partaking of the divine nectar that is the Bhagavat Katha. Rather than indulging in the wasteful sensual pleasures indulge in the divine pleasure of listening to the katha as narrated by Shukadevji and experience the true fulfillment of human life. The example of King Parikshit bears witness to the fact that we can attain liberation by listening to the Bhagavat Katha.
Every Sanskrit syllable in the word Bhagavat connotes a deeply significant meaning. ‘Bha’ stands for light. ‘Ga’ stands for Knowledge, ‘Va’ stands for renunciation and ‘Ta’ stands for austerities. By listening to the katha of Shrimad Bhagavat all these four benefits are automatically accomplished.
Pondering over the current national issues Pujya Bhaishri commented “It is not a sin to become rich. But it is a sin to collect money through corrupt and unethical means. If it is written in your fate you will get money. You must definitely put in your efforts towards that goal. But do not commit any sin for that purpose. If you have built your Lanka through unethical means then some day some Hanuman will definitely come and burn it down. Hence build golden cities but ensure that it is not Lanka. Instead ensure that your golden city is like Dwarka built on the foundation of ethics.
Festivals like Shri Krishna Janmotsav, Govardhan Puja, Rukmini Vivaha, Nrisimha Janma, Vaman Janma, etc. were celebrated with great enthusiasm.
Well known saints like Pujya Shri Morari Bapu, Shri Tapasi Bapu, Shri Jinaram Bapu of Shihor, and others graced the katha and conveyed their blessings.
During the katha Pujya Bhaishri visited the school and the hostel where he had lodged during his primary school studies.
The katha concluded on 22nd May, 2006.
