Devotees of Hyderabad, India listen to Pujya Bhaishri’s Bhagavat katha after 12 years
After 12 long years Pujya Bhaishri’s Bhagavat Katha was organized in Hyderabad from 18th to 24th February with the co-operation of ‘Akhil Bharatiya Vaishya Maha Sammelan Evam Varta Prakashan Samooha’. The Chief hosts of these katha were the M.P. of Hyderabad Shri Girishji Sandhi, and Shri Sudhirji Sandhi.
At 10 a.m. on 18th Feb. the Shobha yatra of Shrimad Bhagavat commenced and after traversing through various parts of the city it arrived at the katha venue where it was welcomed by Brahmins amidst Chanting of Vedic Mantras. Thereafter Pujya Bhaishri performed puja of the deities installed in the pandal and the kindling of the auspicious lamp took place.
Beginning the katha Pujya Bhaishri narrated the Mahatmya, importance of Shrimad Bhagavat saying: “Though one may have committed innumerable sins by one’s actions, words or thoughts, merely by listening to the katha of Shrimad Bhagavat one instantly gets liberated from all those sins. Just as all animals of the forest, big and small, begin to tremble on hearing the roar of a lion, so also all kinds of sins start trembling when one hears Shrimad Bhagavat. Just as our mouth is reddened by eating a betel leaf, paan our life also becomes colourful when we bring katha in our life. This pleasant joy of hearing Shrimad Bhagavat Katha is not available in Heaven, Kailas. Vaikunth or even Satyalok. It is available only to the human beings living on this planet of mortals. When Shri Shukdevji began narrating this Katha to King Parikshit on the banks of river Ganga the Gods of heaven arrived with the Kumbha of Amrit, Pitcher of Nectar and requested Shukdevji to give the nectar to King Parikshit and in exchange give them the nectar of katha to drink. But Shukdevji felt the Gods were not eligible for Katha Sudha.”
Shri Krishna janmotsava was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm during the katha. A beautiful crib of Shri Krishna Janma was displayed at the katha venue. Govardhan Utsav was also celebrated with zest on the evening of 22 Feb. On that occasion the prasad of Chhappan Bhog was distributed after the aarti. The occasion of Rukmini Vivaha was also celebrated with great joy and mirth.
On the concluding day Pujya Bhaishri conveyed his message of love to the people of Hyderabad. He said: “Love alone is the solution of all problems. It is only because of love that God takes birth in human forms. Sometimes he takes birth as Shri Ram and at other times as Shri Krishna. But only when lust and selfishness is eliminated can it be called true love. Lust is like the smoke while Pure Love is like the flame of the lamp. Live lovingly and be happy.” That was Bhaishri’s parting advice to the devotees of Hyderabad.
