“Build a Dwarka not a Lanka” said Pujya Bhaishri to the people of Paravadi during Shrimad Bhagavat Katha
Shrimad Bhagavat Katha commenced at Paravadi on 25th April 2007. It was organised by Sri Paravadi Modern Village Trust, Surat and the whole of Paravadi Village. It was arranged for the noble purpose of development and maintenance of a huge Gaushala (Cowshed) and for promoting education of girls. An amount of approximately rupees 3 Crores has gone into modernising the Paravadi village. Having established most of the modern facilities the leaders of the village decided to hold a Bhagavat Katha.
In the beginning a huge Shobhayatra of Shrimad Bhagavat pothiji set out from the residence of the chief host Shri Odhavjibhai and after passing through various parts of the village it arrived at the venue where it was received amongst Vedic chants. The Rishikumars of Sandipani Vidyaniketan accomplished the ritual recitation of Shrimad Bhagavat.
Explaining the importance of charity to the rich people Pujya Bhaishri said that it is easy to squander away wealth and money. But true joy is achieved by donating money for larger social causes. Truly speaking, money is meant to serve us but quite often people end up serving money. It is like a rich man serving his servants while in fact the servants are supposed to serve the rich man. Employ money in worthwhile causes like opening schools, dispensaries, etc. By spending money in this fashion, not only the society’s but even your own emancipation will be achieved. If in our body the blood clots at some spot a swelling occurs at that particular spot which becomes ugly. Similarly if money gets hoarded at any one place it creates ugliness in the society. Hence money should keep circulating in the society like the blood circulating in our body. From the Vyaspeeth I convey my blessings that you’ll may earn lots of money. Earn money to your fullest capacity and build the golden city. But ensure that the golden city is the Dwarka, which is built on the foundations of ethics. If the golden city built by you is built on unethical foundations then some day a Hanuman will arrive to burn it like the Lanka. Therefore build a golden city of Dwarka on the strong foundations of ethics.
Shri Krishna janmotsava was celebrated with great zeal and fervour during the Katha and the entire Paravadi village was transformed into the fabled Gokul village.
The Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Narendra Modi also remained present at this Katha. Complimenting the donators of Paravadi village he offered his special respects to their mother saying, “Along with offering my respects to Pujya Bhaishri and his Vyaspeeth I also offer my special respects to the mothers of those rich people who have contributed for making Paravadi village so modern and beautiful.”
