Shrimad Bhagavat Katha flows to Vrindavan, India
Vrindavan katha commenced on 23rd Feb. 2007. The occasion was the inauguration of renovated Sri Gangeshwar Smarak Bhavan at “Sri Shrout Muni Niwas”, Vrindavan. Devotees from across the country and also from foreign lands had assembled on this special occasion.
The grand Shobhayatra of Shrimad Bhagavat pothiji commenced from the temple of Sri Bankey Bihariji at 9 a.m. and amidst the chants of sankirtan and Vedghosh it arrived at the katha venue. At 12 noon Pujya Bhaishri formally inaugurated the renovated Sri Guru Gangahwar Smarak Bhavan. The saints and mahatmas who attended this function and conveyed their blessings included Shri Mahamandaleshwar Karshni Shri Gurusharananandji Maharaj of Ramanreti, Mahant Shri Raghumuniji Maharaj of Bada Udasin Akhada, Param pujya Narayan Bhaktamaliji (Pujya Mamaji), Pujya Bhaskaranandji Maharaj and others
Praising the glories of Shri Krishna Pujya Bhaishri said the one who allures everyone towards himself that is Krishna. The name Krishna is enunciated in Sanskrit as “Karshati iti Krishna”. i.e. One who attracts everyone towards himself that is Krishna. The one who attracts everyone to himself with his flute, with his sweet smile, with his alluring crooked sight (chitwan), that is Krishna. Krishna means Supreme God (Parabrahma). Further elucidating Krishna’s meaning, Pujya Bhaishri said:
“’Krish’ir bhuvachakah shabdah ‘Na’shcha nivrittivachakah
Tayoreikyam Parabrahma Krishna tityabhidheeyate.”
It is because Shri Krishna attracts us to himself that the devotees leave everything and set out to go to Vrindavan. They leave their homes, their shops, their businesses and dwell in Vrindavan, encircle Shri Govardhan and enjoy the festivities of Holi.
Important festivals Sri Krishna janmotsav, Govardhan pujan during the katha. were celebrated with great enthusiasm.
On 28th Feb. 2007 Pujya Bhaishri conferred the award of ‘Veda Ratna’ to learned scholars. Speaking on this occasion Pujya Bhaishri said that such scholars of Veda are doing real service to the Vedas. They do not need any awards. Yet it is the responsibility of the society to acknowledge their services and reward them with such awards, because the society is greatly indebted to them.
During this katha Pujya Bhaishri also visited to many Saints and sadhus which included Shri Sangeetacharyaji Maharaj, Shri Rajendradasji Maharaj (Malukpeeth), Shri Vidyabhanuji Maharaj, Shri Anuragji Pathak and others.
