“Shrimad Bhagavat Katha is the shelter from bhavrog” said Pujya Bhaishri in the katha at Mumbai
Paropkar Seva Sansthan of Mumbai organised a Shrimad Bhagavat Katha at the Cross Maidan in Mumbai from 14th December to 20th December 2010 from 3pm to 7pm. The Shobha Yatra was carried out from Shri NarNarayan temple in Kalbadevi to the katha venue, Shri Harihardham. Thousands of devotees joined the Shobha Yatra with Hari naam sankirtan. Thereafter, the chairman of the Paropkar Seva Sansthan, Shri Shankarji, and the principal sponsor of the katha, Shri Pramodji Goyal, worshipped the Pothiji.
The Katha was inaugurated by deepa pragatya by Param Pujya Shri Avadheshanandji. Shri Avadheshanandji then addressed the audience and said, “We are very fortunate to get the opportunity to listen to the Shrimad Bhagavat Katha from Pujya Bhaishri. This katha makes our lives auspicious. It is very easy to attain bhav samadhi (attachment to God), when we listen to Pujya Bhaishri singing bhajans and Hari naam sankirtan.”
Pujya Bhaishri began the katha with mangalaacharan. Thereafter he said that this katha removes our bhavrog (the illness of the worldly attachments) and provides us with peace. This podium is not to praise any individual. Instead, we should use this podium to praise and worship the Lord. We should maintain the importance of the katha through this platform. This katha Guru is the destroyer of bhav rog. It provides refuge to the seeker and leads one to God.
Pujya Bhaishri also advised the Seva Sansthan that it should not only organise katha sessions, but also undertake projects of social services. He said, “Kamao neeti thi, jeevo riti thi ane bhajo preeti thi“, which means, earn ethically, live with the right deeds and pray with devotion or love.
Shri Krishna janma, Annakoot darshan and Shri Rukmini vivah were celebrated with great enthusiasm.
Many leading politicians and industrialists came to listen to the katha. The treasurer of Shri Bhartiya Sanskruti Samvardhak Trust, Shri Bajranglal Taparia, contributed his valuable time and provided his guidance in ensuring that flawless arrangements were made in time for the katha.
