Shri Girnari Education and Charitable Trust organised a Shrimad Bhagavat Katha by Pujya Bhaishri in Samkhiyali, Kutchh, from 10th to 17th November 2010. The aim of this katha was to collect funds for Sant Shri Sandhyagiri Bapu Sanskrut Ved Vidyalaya (Sanskrit school) and Gaushala (cowshed) run by the trust. Shri Muljibhai Ramjibhai Myatra, one of the trustees, was the chief host for this katha.
After the Shobha Yatra of the Pothiji through the town of Samkhiyali, the katha was inaugurated with the auspicious lighting of diyas by Param Pujya Jagadguru Shankaracharya Madhvacharyaji of Jyotishpith, Pujya Muktanand Bapu of Chaparda and Dolatgiri Bapu. The gathered saints then delivered their benedictory messages to the audience.
During the katha, Pujya Bhaishri commented on various issues affecting the society. He referred to the bleak situation in the field of education and said that the current education system is quite oppressive providing students a narrow view of life. The present day education does not educate the child; it only provides information to the student. Children currently are not happy and have no enthusiasm when the bell sounds first thing in the morning at school. Instead, they are happier when the bell is rung at the end of the day. As a result, childrens’ minds do not develop as well as they should.
In addition, Pujya Bhaishri said that parents need to realise that children need to enjoy their childhood and therefore not to take this away from their children. Once gone, the experience of fun and flourishing of mind in childhood will never return.
Shri Krishna janmotsav, Shri Goverdhan pooja and Shri Rukmini vivah were celebrated with great fanfare. Shri Girnari education trust performed kanya daan (the auspicious occasion of giving away of the bride to the groom) of a deserving less fortunate woman during the celebration of Shri Rukmini vivah and paid for all the expenses.
During his stay at Samkhiyali, Pujya Bhaishri visited the bhandara (community lunch) organised by Shri Samast Lohana Raghuvanshi Samaj of Kutchh, where thousands of people attended for meals. He also visited the Bhagavat in progress at the time at the nearby Shri Varshamedi Village, which was sponsored by every family in that village. Pujya Bhaishri bestowed his blessings via a speech at this katha.
The Bhagavat Katha by Pujya Bhaishri was greatly enjoyed by the people of Kutchh and was a huge success.
