Devotees in Banaras blessed with Shrimad Bhagavat Katha by Pujya Bhaishri and Mahashivratri celebrations

Pujya Bhaishri narrated a heavenly Shrimad Bhagavat Katha from 16th February to 23rd February 2012 in the holy town of Lord Shri Kashi Vishwanath Bhagavan, Banaras. During this period, Pujya Bhaishri also celebrated the festival of Mahashivratri in Banaras. The chief host of this prem yagya katha was the family of Shri Jhunjhunwala.
The Shobha Yatra commenced on the first day at 2pm from the temple of Maharshi Bhagavan Ved Vyasji. Several devotees from Banaras joined the procession which arrived at the katha venue in devotion-filled atmosphere. The kindling of the auspicious lamp took place amongst Vedic chants after which Param Pujya Bhaishri began narrating the katha.
Pujya Bhaishri said that Lord Vishwanath has indeed bestowed his blessings upon us unreservedly as along with this katha we will be celebrating the festival of Mahashivratri in his abode.
Pujya Bhaishri said that in Sanatan Dharma, there are five categories of Yagya, namely: Bhrama Yagya, Dev Yagya, Pitru Yagya, Bhoot Yagya and Manushya Yagya. These five Yagyas are the main pillars of support of Sanatan Dharma. Also the immense potential of our spiritual progress is linked to our roots, the Vedas.
Various occasions like Shri Krishna janma and Goverdhan pooja were celebrated with great joy during the katha.
On the 19th and 20th February, the festival of Mahashivratri was celebrated by Shri Dindayal Jalanji in the inspiring presence of Pujya Bhaishri. Several cultural programmes were held in the evenings at Andh Vidyalay (school for the blind). There was an amazing combination of music including singing, playing various instruments and classical dances. The smile on Pujya Bhaishri’s face expressed his happiness and joy during this programme.
Also, on the night of Shivratri, a laghurudrabhishek was completed at the residence of Shri Jalanji in the presence of Pujya Bhaishri. At midnight, Pujya Bhaishri did darshan of Shri Baba Kashi Vishwanathji.

On the last day, Pujya Bhaishri worshipped the holy river Maa Ganga and took a dip in the holy waters. The devotees present felt blessed to gain the opportunity to listen to this katha and celebrate Mahashivratri in this holy place of Shri Kashi Vishwanathji.
