“When do we gain the opportunity to listen to the Shrimad Bhagavat Katha?” explains Pujya Bhaishri in the Morbi Katha

A divine Shrimad Bhagavat Katha by Pujya Bhaishri was organised in the town of Morbi, situated on river Machhu in Rajkot district, from 1st February to 8th February 2012. The chief host of this katha was Shri Prakashbhai Dave and his family.
On the first day, a majestic Shobha Yatra set out from Shri Prakashbhai’s residence, Om Nivas. Many devotees joined the Shobha Yatra through Morbi town with Hari naam sankirtan. The atmosphere in the town was filled with devotion and bliss.
On arrival at the Naimisharanya katha pavilion, the saints of Kabir sect kindled the auspicious lamp after which Pujya Bhaishri began the katha with mangalaacharan.
“Shrimad Bhagavat is the literary form of Shri Hari,” said Pujya Bhaishri. “We will be worshipping this literary form of Shri Hari for eight days.”
Pujya Bhaishri also said that katha is a divine medicine which cures our bhavrog, meaning the desire and attachment to this world. It not only results in our well-being in our current birth, but also leads to our welfare in the next world. We only get the golden opportunity to listen to this enlightening, devotional katha when our good deeds over many lives get fructified.
Shri Krishna janma, Shri Goverdhan pooja and Shri Rukmini vivah were celebrated with great fanfare during the katha. The katha was telecasted live on Sanskar channel.
Majestic cultural programmes were also held in the evenings which included: Shrinathji darshan, a poet gathering and a lok dairo (a show involving folk songs with spiritual speeches).

On the final day, Pujya Bhaishri ended the katha with tearful eyes filled with bhakti. The tears not only performed abhishek (coronation) of the literary form of Shri Hari, but also drenched the listeners with Shri Hari’s devotion.
