Pujya Bhaishri explains the qualities a king and the citizens of a country should have in the Muzaffarpur Shrimad Bhagavat Katha
A Shrimad Bhagavat katha by Pujya Bhaishri was arranged at Muzaffarpur town in Bihar from 24th November to 1st December 2013. The Chief host of this katha was Shri Ashokbhai Bajoria and his family. The Shobha Yatra of the Pothiji commenced from the ancient temple of Baba Garibnath. Pujya Bhaishri was ensconced on an attractive chariot for this Yatra. Thousands of devotees joined the Shobha Yatra’ which traversed the streets of Muzaffarpur town with the devotees singing bhajans and dancing to the musical tunes. On reaching the venue, the Pothiji was worshipped and an aarati performed.
To begin with, Pujya Bhaishri said in the katha that although the people of Muzaffarpur are not well educated they were very sentimental. Saying so, he described Muzaffarpur as the land of sentiments.
On the third day of katha Pujya Bhaishri explained what qualities a King or ruler of the country and its citizens should have. Pujya Bhaishri said that even the Bhagavat tries to address these issues while depicting the story of King Prithu which he was about to narrate. He said that the tale of King Prithu discusses the duties of the King as well as his subjects.
Discussing the current socio-political situation in our country, Pujya Bhaishri said that if people desired to get our country out of the present corrupt situation then it is time they arise in unison. The country was certain to develop fast if people vested power in the hands of a good ruler. He also elaborated upon the merits of democracy and asserted that what he said was supported by the Shrimad Bhagavat. The Bhagavat is not merely a compilation of stories. It discusses all aspects of our life. No educated society should consider Shrimad Bhagavat as a book of stories. Each and every verse of this scripture is meaningful and must be understood and contemplated upon.
The arrival of Lord Shri Krishna was celebrated with great fanfare on the fifth day of katha which began at 9:30am and continued till 5:30pm. A huge crowd had gathered extending till right outside the pavilion to welcome Lord Shri Krishna. The merriment of Lord Shri Krishna’s birth included singing and dancing by the devotees. Goverdhan pooja was performed on the sixth day of the katha and Shri Rukmini vivah was solemnised on the seventh day. The entire katha was telecast live on Sanskar channel thus enabling millions of viewers across the world to view it in the comfort of their homes.
In the end, Pujya Bhaishri remarked that the divine Katha never end nor should it ever end so that the narrator as well as the listeners gets the opportunity to partake its joyful wisdom again and again.
