A mesmerising and memorable Shrimad Bhagavat Katha at Kailash Mansarovar
With the grace and blessings of Lord almighty Pujya Bhaishri consented to the long pending request of his followers to organise a Bhagavat Katha at Kailash Mansarovar, one of the most sacred pilgrimages. Along with the narration of the Bhagavat katha, the recitation of Shiv Puran, Shri Ramcharit Manas and Shrimad Bhagavat by three teams, each consisting of seven Rishikumars was also arranged. More than 250 devotees from all over the country and various corners of the world participated in this pilgrimage and volunteered to be the hosts of various aspects of the entire programme. Different committees were formed to take care of the different arrangements of the whole journey. The katha was held from 1st September to 16th September 2012.
Under the guidance of Pujya Bhaishri, the Rishikumars set out earlier, on 26th August, from Porbandar in order to make preliminary arrangements for the katha. They reached Gorakhpur on 28th August, stopped there for a night, and then proceeded to Kathmandu (Nepal). After clearing the Chinese visa formalities they travelled by car from Jangmu to Nyalam. They spent two nights there after which they travelled to Saga and rested for a night. After a tough journey of passing through the snow clad mountains and viewing the majestic waters of Bhramaputra, the Rishikumars were relieved and excited to reach Mansarovar and take in the breathtaking sight of Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar on 3rd September.
Pujya Bhaishri and other devotees arrived at Kailash on 6th September. The rishikumars had prepared the pavilion and made all other arrangements with the help of the Nepalese. On 7th September, the Shobha Yatra was carried out from the banks of the holy lake Mansarovar after which Pujya Bhaishri began to narrate the Shrimad Bhagavat katha. The katha sessions were conducted in the morning whilst in the afternoon Rudrabhisheks accompanied by the chanting of sacred mantras of Rudrashtadyayi were performed from 2pm to 4pm by various hosts. A Rudra yagya was also performed on 13th September.
Shri Ram and Shri Krishna janma and Shri Rukmini vivah were celebrated with great fanfare. In addition, 11 devotees performed the parikramma of Shri Kailash during the katha. Pujya Bhaishri distributed prasad and Rudraksha Mala to al the devotees present. The katha was completed on 14th September. This experience was not only mesmerising and memorable but also spiritually enriching for all.
