What is the best investment in life?
Ramayan and Bhagavat are both holy books that manifest devotion in those without and increase love in those already with devotion.
Me kritkritya bhayau ab tav prasad bisves, upaji Ram bhagati dradh, bite sakal kales.
Meaning,
All pain and distress is destroyed when one develops love for Shri Ram in life, and this love does not develop without Hari Katha.
Shri Tulsidasji writes:
Binu satsang na hari katha tehi binu moh na bhaag, moh gaye binu Ram pad hoi na dradh anuraag
Meaning,
Listen to Hari katha from a saint; how will one overcome worldly illusions and attachments without Ram Katha? In addition, how will devotion in the lotus feet of Shri Ram develop without the cessation of worldly attachments?
Moksha means the destruction (kshay) of moha (attachment/illusion). Hence, once worldly attachments are destroyed, devotion manifests and when one prays with devotion, Shri Tulsidasji says that this is the mukti (emancipation). Hence, the time and wealth we spend to organise Ram Katha and listen to Ram katha is the best investment for you. This investment is necessary in order to gain the best results.
