Jaipur is the pious land of Mevad whereby saint Meerabai’s bhakti (devotion) was very well spread and recognized. Shri Ramdasji Agrawal, sitting MP of Jaipur, was the main sponsor of this katha.
On the first day, the Shobha Yatra set out from Shri Radha Krishna temple to the katha venue with bhajans and several instruments being played by devotees amongst a grand procession of riding elephants and horses.
The katha was inaugurated at 3pm by respected Peethadhishwarji of Bhramapeeth, Param Pujya Narayandasji, by deepa pragatya and a small speech. Other dignitaries present on the occasion also paid their tributes to Pujya Bhaishri.
Pujya Bhaishri said in the katha, “This Bhagavat katha is to experience Shri Krishna. Its purpose is not to ear money, fame or status. The katha loses its importance when other goals instead of Shri Krishna take priority”.
