Blissful Celebrations of Janmashtami at Shri Hari Mandir during Shravan Month
Amongst all other celebrations during Shravan month, Janmashtami was celebrated with great fanfare at Shri Hari Mandir.
On the morning of Janmashtami, an abhishek of milk, amidst holy chants of mantras by Rishikumars, was performed by the chief hosts Shri Trilochanbhai and Shrimati Chandrikaben Patel.
In the evening at 7pm, after aarati, Prakashbhai and his team sang and involved the devotees present in sankirtan. Thereafter, Pujya Bhaishri, the Rishikumars and assembled devotees recited five chapters from the tenth section of the Shrimad Bhagavat which describe the manifestation of Shri Krishna. Exactly at midnight, the divine birth of Shri Krishna took place. Pujya Bhaishri bathed Lord Krishna with panchamrit (mixture of milk, yoghurt, refined butter, honey and jaggery) accompanied with ecstatic chants by all of Nand gher anand bhayo, Jai Kanhaiya lal ki.
The next day, after performing abhishek on Lord Shiv, Pujya Bhaishri captivated all in the devotion of Shri Krishna with further celebrations of the birth of Shri Krishna. All devotees crowded to rock the cradle of baby Krishna and were mesmerised to see the aarati and mixture of butter and sugar offered to baby Krishna.
The celebrations ended blissfully with aarati of Shri Lakshmi Narayan Bhagavan and the distribution of prasad of butter and sugar to all.
