“Come, let us soothe our mind, body and spirit with the cool waters of Shrimad Bhagavat katha” said Pujya Bhaishri during the Mumbai Katha
On 1st May 2009, a Bhagavat katha by Pujya Bhaishri was organised by Shri Dasha Sorathia Vanik Samaj of Borivali, Dahisar. A grand shobha yatra set out from Pujya Bhaishri’s residence on the first day of the katha. Many saints and sages including the head of the pushti sampraday 108 Shri Dwarkeshlal ji Maharaj participated in the shobha yatra and blessed the devotees who showered floral petals as the yatra passed through the streets. Learned Brahmins welcomed the Pothiji amidst Vedic chants when it arrived at the katha venue.
After the ritual worship of the Pothiji and the Vyaspeeth the saints and sages inaugurated the katha with deepa pragatya. Shri108 Shri Dwarkeshlalji then delivered a speech in which he said that Bhagavan Dwarkadishji did not retire to his abode, Vaikunth, at the end of his stay on the earth in Dwaparyuga. Instead Shri Dwarkadishji resided in Shrimad Bhagavat. Hence, Shrimad Bhagavat is Lord Krishna himself. By seeking refuge in Shrimad Bhagavat, our emancipation is ensured.
Pujya Bhaishri in his katha said that in today’s Kaliyug the entire world is afflicted with greed and desire. Corruption, terrorism and fear exist all over. People are restless and live under the shadow of fear. Therefore, he said, “Come, let us soothe our mind, body and spirit with the cool waters of Shrimad Bhagavat katha”. He continued to say that when a forest is caught with the flames of fire a wise animal like the elephant runs towards a lake for refuge. Similarly in this world filled with greed and lust, seeking shelter in Shrimad Bhagavat will provide us with serenity.
In addition to the katha, Shri Dasha Sorathia Vanik Samaj organised a blood donation camp. Pujya Bhaishri, 108 Shri Dwarkeshlal ji and other saints also performed a puja of Shiv linga made of eleven hundred thousand rudraksh.
