Devka – Gujarat Bhagavat Katha 1st Day
Pujya Bhaishri stressed that the purpose of this katha and the Devka Vidyapeeth project is to encourage as many children in Devka and all the surrounding villages to gain education from nursery to college. He said that value based education now and in the future is essential and will lead to a better India, better character, decrease in addictions and bad habits. Education does not involve only developing careers but it also involves building a good character and therefore a wise human being.
Pujya Bhaishri said, “I know why you are all here. You are all here to ask me for a medicine for an illness called bhavrog. The signs of bhavrog are: jealousy, anger, selfishness, enmity, arrogance of wealth and attachments to worldly pleasures. These all prevent us from sharing love and kindness with everyone. Let us all listen and have a conversation with Shri Dwarkadheesh for these eight days and aim to remove the vices within us and be a person he likes”.
“This medicine is sweet,” said Pujya Bhaishri. “It provides bliss and happiness to our ears and mind. Even one thought taken away from the whole Shrimad Bhagavat katha will change our lives to make us a better person.”
