The family of Shri R.P. Goenkaji organized spiritual discourses in Kolkata from 5th to 8th September 2008 at Shri Mahalaxmi temple. Pujya Bhaishri guided spiritual seekers in these sessions on how to successfully live a spiritually realized life.

On 5th September, Pujya Bhaishri spoke on the topic ‘Nishkaam karma’, the central theme of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, which involves a divine dialogue between Lord Shri Krishna and Arjuna. Pujya Bhaishri quoted the following famous doha to support this theme:

Ajagar kare na chaakri, panchhi kare na kaam,
Daas Maluk yun kahe sab kaa data Ram.

On 6th September, Pujya Bhaishri’s birthday, as per lunar tithi, was celebrated with great joy & fervour. The assembled audience sang Bengali greeting songs wishing Pujya Bhaishri a long and healthy life. Pujya Bhaishri distributed sweets and chocolates to the assembled people.

On 7th September, it was Radha Ashtami, the birthday of Radhaji. On this day Pujya Bhaishri spoke on ‘Naari Shakti’, which means, women’s power. He said that Lord Shri Krishna was incomplete without Radhaji. Pujya Bhaishri sang a song composed by him in praise of Radhaji. The hearts of the assembled audience poured out with divine devotion and joy when Pujya Bhaishri led them in singing the famous song ‘Mithe ras se bharyo re Radha rani laage’.

Pujya Shri Bhagavatanandaji graced the congregation on the final day. He conveyed the greetings of Radha Ashtami to all and extended his good wishes for Pujya Bhaishri on the occasion of his birthday. Concluding the spiritual satsang sessions, Pujya Bhaishri advised everyone to live a life of love and purity.

Finally, Shri R.P. Goenkaji thanked everyone on behalf of his family and expressed a wish that may Pujya Bhaishri bless the people of Kolkata with such divine satsang every year.
