Guru Purnima Celebrations 2019 begin with Guru Gaurav Awards

Guru Purnima celebrations at Sandipani, in the presence of Pujya Bhaishri began on 15 July 2019 for two days.

The morning session began with kindling of the auspicious lamp followed by talks by Shri Partheshbhai Pandya, Dr. Mahendrabhai Chotaliya, Shri Gijubhai Bharat and Shri Chaitanyabhai Bhatt.

Pujya Bhaishri in his morning speech said that this award ceremony is being carried out for the past twelve years. We can unravel scriptures but not humans. Life is simple but we have made it difficult because a human keeps filling one’s mind all the time making it heavy and burdensome. Today, intelligence is becoming increasingly ugly. Preservation of beauty in life is necessary.

A teacher must strive to embed qualities such as simplicity, attentiveness etc in a student. Stressing the importance of diligence, Pujya Bhaishri said that most mistakes are made due to lack of attentiveness.

A student should be: ­

1. Healthy and determined;
2. Simple;
3. Attentive;
4. Compassionate

Education should not be limited to the four walls of a school. Life is constantly teaching us. When we understand the arrangements made by God for us, that is education. When we accept this, it is life.

Guru Gaurav Awards 2019

In the afternoon, Sandipani Guru Gaurav Award event began with great enthusiasm.

Life Time Achievement Award

Life Time Achievement Award was given to Shri Gijubhai Bharad from Rajkot. Shri Gijubhai has been contributing to the field of mathematics and science for many years.

Shri Gijubhai in his speech said that this was the best moment of his life which is filled with love. He said that he is determined to publish Pujya Bhaishri’s several books as e- books by his next birthday, 31 August 2020 and declares this today.

Guru Gaurav Award

This was presented to the leader of Lokmitra Sanstha, Shri Chaitanyabhai Bhatt and Sonalben Bhatt, from the he town Dhedhuki in Rajkot. Shrimati Sonalben said that after accepting this award, our responsibility has increased. We will work harder and be even more focused in our work.

Best School Award

The Best School Award was awarded to Vishwa Mangal Anera in Akodara, Himmatnagar. The award was accepted by Shri Govindbhai and Sumatiben Raval. Shri Sumatiben said that the spiritual environment in Sandipani has touched us. I am grateful to Pujya Bhaishri for this award.

Best Teacher Award

32 teachers from primary and secondary schools in Gujarat were selected by the award committee and presented with awards by Pujya Bhaishri.

Pujya Bhaishri’s speech – this is a ceremony of worshipping the awardee

Pujya Bhaishri said that a person becomes a demi-god or a demon through one’s deeds. We place Guru in God’s category. Guru is God Himself. One who becomes a demi-god through one’s actions cannot be given an award, but can be saluted and worshipped.

In an award, one is honoured, whereas in worship there is presence of love. In an award respect is present, whereas when one is worshipped with devotion, it is done with humility.

Sometimes, people provide awards as though they are doing a favour on the receiver. The awardee is receiving the award having deserved it but what is the eligibility of the donor? The eligibility of the donor is equally important. Today, the worship and respects paid were with humility.
