Holi Utsav 2009
The colourful festivals of Holi and Dhuli vandana, spraying of Colours, were celebrated at Shri Hari Mandir of Sandipani Vidyaniketan, Porbandar, with great zeal and fervour on 10th and 11th March 2009.
On Falgun Shukla Poornima of the Indian calendar, that is 10th March, a special puja followed by aarati was performed at Shri Hari Mandir. The lighting of Holi was carried out on the grounds of the temple. The ritual of worshipping of Holi was performed by the Rishikumars of Sandipani Vidyaniketan. Pujya Bhaishri then gave his special message saying: “Just as we set to flame the devil woman Holika, similarly, we should set fire to the devils within us of ignorance, blind faith and kusanskars (evil practices) and light the flame of knowledge. By doing so we will spread divinity, knowledge and good practices in the society and our life will progress on the path of service to God”. Thereafter, Pujya Bhaishri distributed prasadto the assembled devotees.
The day of Dhuli vandana began with the worship of the Dhvajaji of Shri Hari Mandir by Shri Niranjanbhai Thakrar and his family. Pujya Bhaishri then worshipped and sprinkled colours on Shri Hari, Shri Radha Krishna, Shri Ram darbar, Shri Shiv parivar, Shri Karunamayi Maa and all the assembled devotees in Hari Mandir. The colours extracted from the flowers of Kesuda, grown in the compound of Shri Hari Mandir, were used to spray during this festival.
Pujya Bhaishri bestowed his blessings and said that may everyone’s’ lives be filled with the fragrant colour of devotion.
