Where there is love and enjoyment, interest automatically develops because our attention is constantly there. When you are interested in something, you will not need to make any special effort to concentrate on it. You can concentrate because you enjoy it. We look for enjoyment and wherever and in whatever we find it we want to do only that. We are interested so we love it and because we love it we want to do it.
At the same time, we will love a certain thing if we understand its importance. Even in the Shrimad Bhagavat and the Bhagavad Gita the importance and glory of the texts has been given first so that an understanding of its importance can be gained. A lasting love of these scriptures will develop through reading and appreciating the importance.
We have been born from bliss. We live of it and that is our goal. Bliss is present where there is interest and enjoyment. Interest is present where there is love and love is there where there is true understanding of the importance of what you are doing. For example, many of us are interested in earning money because they understand the importance of it. Therefore, they enjoy and are interested in earning money.
Hence, understand the importance of studies and you will develop an interest in it.
