The festival of Deepavali was celebrated with great joy at Sandipani this year in the presence of Pujya Bhaishri from 21 October to 24 October 2014.

The first day of the five-day Deepavali festival is known as Dhantaryodashi, on which Goddess Laxmi is worshipped to provide prosperity and well-being. Pujya Bhaishri and the trustee of Shri Hari Mandir, Shri Mansukhbhai Joshi, worshipped Shri Laxminarayan and the Shri symbol on 21 October (Dhantaryodashi) and offered 1008 lotuses to Shri Laxminarayan.

On the second day of the festival, Roop Chaudash, on 22 October, Shri Mansukhbhai Joshi worshipped Lord Bhairav at 8am which was followed by aarati by Pujya Bhaishri in the evening.

On the day of Deepavali on 23 October, the entire Shri Hari Mandir was decorated beautifully. SHM shined radiantly in the evening with all the lamps kindled around it. In addition, the deities were adorned with special clothes and ornaments. Devotees were blessed the entire day with this divine darshan.

Also, from 10.30am to 12.30pm, Pujya Bhaishri distributed clothes and Indian sweets to children from various schools. After the evening aarati at Shri Hari Mandir, Pujya Bhaishri, the chief host of the event, Charuben and devotees enjoyed doing sparkles with Shri Hari. At night, Pujya Bhaishri joined Rishikumars and devotees to burst fireworks outside Pujya Bhaishri’s residence making the whole event colourful and joyous.

The next day, New Year’s Day, on 24 October, a divine annakut was offered to the deities in Shri Hari Mandir. The host of this event, Shri Padgavakarji and devotees enjoyed the Prasad and experienced as though Shri Hari was protecting the world. The divine and exuberant festival ended with Rajbhog aarati at Shri Hari Mandir by Pujya Bhaishri at 11.15am.

We hope you all had equally merry celebrations. Do join us next year to lighten up the event even more!
