Latur Katha renamed Yuva katha
Pujya Bhaishri’s Bhagwat Katha sessions were organized in Latur from 10th Nov. to 17th Nov. 2002. The Shobhayatra of Shrimad Bhagwat began at 9 a.m. on 10th Nov. and was welcomed and greeted by the local citizens with great devotion and joy at various places as it passed through the town. The procession reached the katha mandap which was named ‘Barsana’ at 11 a.m. where it was welcomed amidst Vedic chants of Brahmins. On the very first day it rained signalling the blessings of Radharani being showered on the katha session. It rained about 1-1.5 inches causing water logging in the mandap. Yet the audience patiently listened to Bhaishri’s katha thus displaying their love and devotion for both Shrimad Bhagwat as well as Pujya Bhaishri.
In spite of the rains and water logging on the first day the katha began sharp at 9 a.m. next morning mainly due to the untiring efforts of the young members of ‘Yuva Satsang Samiti’ which ensured that the mandap had been properly drained and cleaned. Prior to the katha session the spot where the katha was organized was not properly levelled and grass was excessive. Hence the elders of the ‘Satsang Samiti’ were not in favour of arranging the katha on that ground. The youngsters however insisted that it could be organized at that very place. They arranged for the cutting of the grass and levelling of the ground. In recognition of their enthusiastic efforts the katha was named as ‘Yuva Katha’. Pujya Bhaishri also gave the Upanishadic message of “Yuva syat sadhuh yuvadhyayakah aashishtho balishtho dradhishthoh” i.e. “The youngsters should become simple, learned, and strong and firm willed.”
All important events were celebrated with great devotion and fervour. The Krishna Janmotsav was celebrated on 14th Nov. at 10 p.m. Nandotsav was celebrated on 16th Nov. On the afternoon of 16th Nov. Govardhan utsav was celebrated and on the same day in the evening, Rukmini Vivah was celebrated.
The katha session ended on 17th Nov. 2002 with Bhaishri’s message that such programs should be arranged by the yuvashakti under the guidance of the experienced elders.
