Well done rishikumars!
Shri Jagat Taraiyya, a bright student of Sandipani Vidyaniketan studying at M. A. level has done our institute proud by winning the second prize at the national competition of elocution in Sanskrit held at Shringeri. Prior to that Shri Jagat Taraiyya had also won the first prize at the state level Sanskrit competition organized by Sanskrit Academy where he spoke on Saankhya. Similarly a F.Y. B.A. student of Sandipani Vidyaniketan, Shri Mahesh Bhatt won second prize for the Shloka Antaakshari held at Delhi by Lal Bahadur Shastri Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya on 15th February 2002 on the occasion of their annual day celebration. Prof. Falgunbhai Mon of Sandipani Vidyaniketan accompanied Shri Mahesh Bhatt to Delhi as a guide. Our heartiest congratulations to Shri Jagat Taraiyya, Shri Mahash Bhatt and Prof. Falgunbhai. The Irrigation department of Gujarat and Porbandar Horticultural Society had arranged its 4th exhibition and competition of Vegetables- Fruits and Flowers on 23rd and 24th February 2002, where Shri Nitesh Joshi, a 3rd year B. A. student of Sandipani Vidyaniketan won the first prize, while Sandipani Vidyaniketan was awarded the first prize for planting maximum number of plants in the section of kitchen garden. On 24th Feb.2002 a prize distribution function was organized at Amreli by Samasta Brahma Samaj, Saurashtra-Kutch, where Shri Bharat Shilu and Shri Milan Joshi, both T.Y.B.A. students of Sandipani Vidyaniketan, won prizes for scoring highest marks. Congratulations to them.
Vishwakarma Jayanti celebrated
Vishwakarma Jayanti was celebrated on 25th February with great enthusiasm at Sandipani Vidyaniketan by the students, officials, architects and the artisans involved in the building of the temple, which is planned to be the focus of all cultural activities of our institute. Early in the morning, a puja of Shri Vishwakarma and Shri Brahmaji was performed under the supervision of students and mahaprasad was also prepared and freely distributed amongst the people participating in the celebrations.
Rishikumars participate in collective wedding festival
A collective wedding festival of Mahar community was held at Kutiyana on 28th Feb. 2002 under the joint auspices of Mahar Supreme Council – Porbandar and Kutiyana Maher Samaj. 46 couples were wedded together at this function, the religious ceremony and rituals being performed by the aacharyas and rishikumars of Sandipani Vidyaniketan. Shri Lakshmanbhai Odedara, trustee of Shri Bharatiya Sanskriti Samvardhak Trust and other leading personalities of Maher Samaj and Kutiyana town attended this function and graced the occasion. Swami Shri Dharmabandhuji spoke on the occasion about the role of women in Vedic times and the importance of women’s power in the building of society. He also blessed the newly wedded couples. Dr. Virambhai Gothaniya spoke about the strengths of a united society stressing on the importance of being united and organized. A blood donation camp was also organized to mark the occasion by Mahar Stri Vikas Mandal Porbandar and Kutiyana Mahar Samaj. Shri Girish Kerawala announcer of Akashwani Rajkot, recorded this entire function which was transmitted on air on the 2nd of March. Shri Ushakant Pandya of Sandipani Vidyaniketan presided as the chief priest for all religious rituals and ceremonies at this auspicious function.
