Our material progress should be accompanied by our spiritual progress, explains Pujya Bhaishri in Nadiyad Shrimad Bhagavat Katha

A divine Shrimad Bhagavat Katha in by Pujya Bhaishri was organised in Nadiyad from 7th February to 13th February 2014 to mark the 183rd year of eternal rest of the famous saint Pujya Shri Santram Maharaj. After a long time, Pujya Bhaishri narrated the katha in two sessions.

The Shobha Yatra commenced from Shri Santram temple and reached the katha venue amidst chants of Jai Maharaj. Many celebrated saints and leaders participated in the Shobha Yatra.

Param pujya Bhaskaranandji of Delhi kindled the auspicious lamp to mark the beginning of katha. Other saints who graced the occasion and delivered their benedictory speeches included Param Pujya Devprasad Bapu, Param Pujya Jinaram Bapu, Param Pujya Shivaram Saheb and Param Pujya Mahadev Bapu.

At the beginning of narrating the Bhagavat katha, Pujya Bhaishri recalled the many noble qualities of Param Pujya Santram Maharaj and the traditions set by him.

Pujya Bhaishri touched upon many contemporary issues during the katha. He also discussed the spiritual aspects of human life. He commented that in present times, the material aspect of life has become more important and although we are progressing externally, our internal development has stunted.

Human values are being neglected and the light of our internal consciousness is becoming dimmer. Let our internal light become fully radiant by reading the Shrimad Bhagavat. The material progress should be accompanied by our spiritual progress and only then can we maintain balance in our society. This is possible with the help of Bhagavat Katha and the grace and blessings of saints.

Pujya Bhaishri further said that our time, money and energy are very important. They must be employed and used wisely. We should understand the working of the human mind. Our youngsters are an important part of our society. We will have to establish communication with them. If we try to preach, they will run away from us. Instead, we need to listen to them with love and understanding. Thereafter, what we advise will become fruitful.

Festivals like Shri Krishna janmotsav, Shri Giriraj Pooja and Shri Rukmini vivah were celebrated with great fanfare during the katha. Many saints and dignitaries graced the katha. Pujya Shri Morari bapu graced the katha on the concluding day.
