“Peace can be attained only as a result of Satkarma’!” said Pujya Bhaishri during Surat Bhagwat Katha

“Even moneyed and successful people who have all the riches and comforts of life can be emotionally dissatisfied with life if true peace is not established in their lives,” said Pujya Bhaishri expressing the paradox of success and true peace in human life while speaking at his Bhagwat Katha organized at Surat from 12th to 21st December 2003. Explaining further he said, “Money can buy us cushioned beds and pillows but not sleep; food but not hunger. If we think for ourselves, it will be clear to us that money can buy us the comforts and convenience but not peace! Peace is attained only as the result of our Satkarmas or good actions!”

Continuing in his reflective style Pujya Bhaishri further clarified, “It is not appropriate to undertake charitable activities after becoming rich through unfair means. It does not result in true peace. It is because of ignorance that we commit faults and ignorance occupies an individual’s mind only as long as he has not had the benefit of Satsang. Scriptures like Shrimad Bhagwat, Shri Ramacharit Manas, Shrimad Bhagwad Gita, Upanishads, etc. are the means which we can look upon as being the basis of Satsang.”

Giving out the secret of attaining true peace Pujya Bhaishri concluded, “Peace can be attained through Sadhana or spiritual endeavour. But there is another way too of attaining peace. And that is through Love! Through love even an enemy becomes a friend.”

The Katha sessions were inaugurated by Pujya Karshni Shri Guru Sharananandji Maharaj by lighting the auspicious lamp. While speaking on this occasion he advised the audience that after hearing the Bhagwat Katha we must not think as to what happened to the characters of the Bhagwat. Instead we should ponder as to what have we learnt from it?

During his stay in Surat, Pujya Bhaishri visited the local Swaminarayan Gurukul and the Godhani Kanya Chhatralaya (Girl’s hostel). Addressing the girls of the hostel Pujya Bhaishri said: “When a man becomes great he ensures the emancipation of his kul or family. But when a girl evolves into a refined woman she ensures the emancipation of the families of her father, her husband as also that of her maternal grand parents therefore a woman plays a greater role.” Pujya Bhaishri also inaugurated the Bardoli to Somnath Yatra organized in memory of the great patriot statesman Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Brahma Samaj of Surat felicitated Pujya Bhaishri during his stay in Surat.
