Pujya Bhaishri blesses awardees at the Diwaliben Mohanlal Mehta awards, 2004

In an impressive function held at Nehru Centre Auditorium in Mumbai, on January 7, 2004, the 11th Annual Diwaliben Awards were presented to 10 eminent social workers from different parts of India.

Pujya Bhaishri blessed and presented the awards along with the minister of state of power, Jayawantiben Mehta. Former chief justice of India, P N Bhagwati, explained the selection process. The recipients of the awards were Swami Rambhadracharyaji, chancellor of Handicapped University, Chitrakoot, Nagjibhai and Shantabai Desai, Dr. Rasiklalbhai Gandhi, chairman of Dr. Rasiklal P. Gandhi Medical foundation, Mumabi and many others.

Diwaliben Mohanlal Mehta Charitable Trust is engaged in multifarious welfare activities including medical aid, education aid and relief work in times of natural calamities.

These awards are being presented with a view to inspire people to do good to the poor and needy.
