Pujya Bhaishri Blesses The People Of Gorakhpur With Shrimad Bhagavat Katha

Pujya Bhaishri narrated a divine Shrimad Bhagavat Katha from 22nd October to 29th October 2010 at Gorakhpur, the legendary town named after the great Guru Shri Gorakhnathji. The katha was hosted by the family of Shri Ajitsariaji.
A grand Shobha Yatra commenced at half past two in the afternoon from the tapobhoomi (sanctified place by practicing austerities) of Guru Gorakhnathji. Pujya Shri Chidanand Saraswatiji of Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh and other revered saints joined the procession. Singing Harinam sankirtan on the way, the Shobha Yatra arrived at the sprawling katha mandap that was built in the vast open foreground of the temple. The folk women of Ajitsaria family sang graceful welcome songs to receive the procession. Thereafter, Pujya Muniji Maharaj inaugurated the katha with deepa pragatya and delivered a speech in which he spoke about rebuilding the nation.
Pujya Bhaishri then began narrating the katha and said: “Shrimad Bhagavat Katha is an effective remedy that cures our bhavrog (the affliction created by the cycle of trans-migration from one birth to another) and provides the right direction to our lives. Human beings yearn for everlasting happiness. The name of this eternal happiness is Krishna. Shri Krishna is an ocean of bliss and joy. If you expect lasting happiness from the world then you are searching in the wrong direction, because you are searching for permanence (eternal happiness, Shri Krishna) from something that is temporary itself (the world). Only God, the Supreme Being is eternal in this world. Therefore, let us begin our journey towards God (and therefore eternal bliss) through Shrimad Bhagavat Katha.”
Pujya Bhaishri continued to say in his katha that the real accomplishment of listening to the Shrimad Bhagavat Katha is that we lose the temptation of the worldly desires and fall in love (gain Bhakti) with Lord Krishna. Further on in the katha Pujya Bhaishri provided an insightful explanation on bhramacharcha (enlightening discussion about God) and bhramacharya (celibacy or righteous living).
Shri Krishna janma, Shri Giriraj poojan and Shri Rukmini vivah were celebrated with great fanfare during the katha. The katha was telecasted live on Sanskar channel. In addition, Pujya Bhaishri visited the religious places of Gorakhpur like Geeta Vatika and Gorakhpur Press.
