Pujya Bhaishri condemns terrorist attacks during Mumbai Bhagavat Katha
Shri Prempuriji Maharaj’s svarna nirvana mahotsav is celebrated in India and abroad with great dedication. To celebrate this occasion this year (2008), Pujya Bhaishri’s Bhagavat Saptah was arranged on 30th November.
The katha was inaugurated by the distinguished Ramayan kathakar Pujya Shri Moraribapu. Other spiritual celebrities who graced this occasion were Param Pujya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Satyamitranandaji of Bharatmata mandir, Haridwar and Param Pujya Swami Shri Vishveshvaranandaji Giriji of Sanyas ashram, Vile-Parle. Both extended their blessings on the occasion after deepa pragatya. Swami Vishweshwaranandji said that Swami Shri Prem Puriji would have been very keen to listen to this Bhagavat katha. Had the katha been narrated in a public ground rather than the ashram, Swami Prem Puriji would have been deprived of the privilege of listening to it. Hence the katha had been organised within the precincts of the ashram. He then prayed to the almighty God to provide eternal peace to the souls of people who lost their lives in the recent terrorist attack in Mumbai and bless their family members with strength to endure the loss of their beloveds. He also requested everyone to pray to God to transform our earth into prempuri (dwelling of love).
At the outset of the katha, Pujya Bhaishri conveyed his deep grief and sorrow for the loss of lives in the terrorist attack and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the martyrs who had laid their lives while fighting the terrorists. He also expressed his anguish for the perpetrators of violence in the name of religion.
Shri Krishna janmotsava, Govardhan pooja and Rukmini vivaha were celebrated with great zest & zeal during the katha. Blood donation and dental camps were also organised during the katha.
“This is not Jihad; this is also not religion, it is in fact a cowardly and irreligious act!” Pujya Bhaishri claimed.
Pujya Bhaishri questioned on how long people will continue to suffer these attacks. He prayed to God to make our countrymen intolerant to such acts and explained that people of all faiths should unite and fight against terrorism. He then requested everyone to pay their tributes to the deceased souls through this katha.
Shri Krishna janmotsav, Govardhan pooja and Shri Rukmini vivah were celebrated enthusiastically during the katha.
