Pujya Bhaishri explains the importance of chanting God’s name in Shrimad Bhagavat Katha at Gondiya

Shrimad Bhagavat Katha by Pujya Bhaishri at Gondiya was held from 16th February to 23rd February 2014 by the family of Shri Gopaldas Agrawal.

The ritual worship of the Pothiji was performed by the host family in the presence of Pujya Bhaishri in the Laxminarayan temple in Agrasen Bhavan from where the grand Shobha Yatra set out. Pujya Bhaishri mounted a decorated chariot and Shri Gopaldas Agrawal followed it carrying the Bhagavat Pothiji on his head. The Shobha Yatra, consisting of about 5000 enthusiastic devotees, wended its way through a track of 2 Kilometres to reach the katha venue. 101 women led this Yatra carrying saffron flags, followed by young girls of Jalaram Satsang Mandal, and women of Gayatri Parivar carrying urns on their heads.

The katha was inaugurated by kindling of the auspicious lamp by Pujya Bhaishri, Union Minister Shri Prafulbhai Patel, 3 members of the Legislative Assembly and leading representatives of other faiths.

In this katha, Pujya Bhaishri said that one should listen to the Bhagavat Katha to obtain the love of God. By listening to the qualities of Shri Hari, we develop love for him in our heart. Maharashtra is the land where the stream of devotion flows in abundance.

Shri Shukdevji narrated this katha to King Pariksheet driven by his intense compassion. However, his compassion benefitted not only King Pariksheet but the entire humanity. Bhagavat Katha assures us that the Almighty God pervades the whole universe.

Pujya Bhaishri also advised that all our sins are destroyed by chanting God’s name. Those who sin will not be able to develop interest in God’s name. With our without love, with or without your mind engrossed, chant God’s name. Society, religion and laws of the country are three powers that prevent humans from behaving like animals.

The people of Gondiya felt blessed to hear the katha once again by Pujya Bhaishri.
