Pujya Bhaishri explains the meaning of Bhagavat in Katha at Pune
Shri Haritara Spiritual Trust organised a Shrimad Bhagavat Katha by Pujya Bhaishri from 9th April to 16th April in Pune. The residents of Pune were delighted to get this opportunity to listen to Bhagavat katha after many years. The chief host of the katha was the family of Shri Anand Gandhi.
Param Pujya 108 Shri Vagesh Bawashri and Param Pujya 108 Shri Vrajesh Bawashri from Vadodara inaugurated the katha with kindling the auspicious lamp after the Shobha Yatra. Explaining the importance of listening to the Shrimad Bhagavat, Param Pujya 108 Shri Vagesh Bawashri said that listening to the Shrimad Bhagavat is not easily achievable in the higher worlds like swarga lok, satya lok, vaikunth and Kailash which is why the demi-gods take the form of human beings to listen to the Bhagavat. Hence we are all very fortunate to be able to listen to this katha from an extra-ordinary and eloquent speaker like Pujya Bhaishri.
Thereafter, Param Pujya 108 Shri Vagesh Bawashri compares Shrimad Bhagavat to a medicine in his speech. He said that Shrimad Bhagavat is the best medicine to cure our bhavrog and fill our ears and mind with happiness. Hence let us all living on this earth cure ourselves from bhavrog with this remedy.
Pujya Bhaishri explained the meaning of Bhagavat at the beginning of the katha. He said that ‘Bha’ means light, i.e. spiritual enlightenment,
‘Ga’ stands for gyan (knowlegde),
‘Va’ means vairagya (renunciation) and
‘Ta’ stands for tap (penance).
When we continue to listen to the Shrimad Bhagavat again and again, we gain spiritual enlightenment. This leads to the gaining of knowledge. Knowledge leads to renunciation which then prepares us for penance.
Shri Krishna janmotsav, Shri Goverdhan pooja and Shri Rukmini vivah were celebrated with great fanfare.
During his stay in Pune, Pujya Bhaishri visited many temples in and around Pune, including the famous Sapta Shringi temple. He also visited the local Vaidik school and addressed the rishikumars studying there.
