Pujya Bhaishri inaugurates First day Cover and Postage stamp of Late Shri Dhirubhai Ambani in Mumbai
The day 28th of December 2002, the 70th birthday of Late Shri Dhirubhai Ambani was marked as a historical event where a businessman of rare acumen was honoured by the Government of India by releasing the First day Cover and Postage stamp in his memory.
The program at Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, Mumbai began with the lighting of the lamp by Pujya Bhaishri, Shri Pramod Mahajan, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Communication and Information Technology, Smt. Kokilaben Ambani, Shri Mukheshbhai Ambani and Shri Anilbhai Ambani.
Shri Mukeshbhai Ambani gave the welcome speech and called Bhaishri the source of devotion and enlightenment, comfort and confidence and the foundation of forbearance and fortitude. After the Inaugration of the First day Cover and postage stamp, Shri Pramod Mahajan, gave a brilliant speech spiced with humour.
Pujya Bhaishri then gave a short discourse and began with a small story of a young boy who stood in the dark not knowing how to begin his journey. He couldn’t see anything ahead and felt completely lost. A saint then came to him and gave him a Deepakin his hand. The saint told the young boy that darkness was the problem but this light is the solution. Now begin your journey and this Deepak will light your path. Not satisfied the boy said, but I can see only a few feet ahead, I’m unable to see my goal. How will I reach my destination? To this the saint said that keep the idea of your goal in your head and concentrate on how much you see with the light in your hand. As you walk, your path will get lit and you will continue to see where you are going. You will ultimately reach your goal. Pujya Bhaishri said that there are some people in the society who keep blaming the darkness and do nothing about it. They do not make any effort to find a solution. But this country saw a remarkable man like the Late Shri Dhirubhai Ambani who in the form of his ideas and motivation represents this Deepak which is in every young man’s hand. Now it is for the youth to take upon themselves and walk ahead. The light of the Deepak is a part of the sun, which is always working, doing its job by providing light to everybody. Such was Dhirubhai Ambani too, a true karma yogi. The Bhagwad Geeta says to recognize the goodness in each person and accept it so that we feel goodwill and not envy towards that person. The story of Dhirubhai should not give rise to envy but should be treated as an adarsh, an example. Everyone can reach where he reached. Dream and dream on, work towards making your dream a reality. Understand what you want and have a clear goal. Pujya Bhaishri bestowed the accolade of Rajasrshi on the Late Shri Dhirubhai Ambani and ended by saying that the youth should get inspired by Dhirubhai’s karmayogita and to begin their journey on the foundation of correct morals and work ethics.
A recital of bhajans by the world renowned singer, Hariharan left the audience enchanted and the inaugural program ended with a very emotional thanksgiving speech by Shri Anilbhai Ambani. For all present, it was truly an evening to remember.
