Pujya Bhaishri Praises Kotharia For Its Dedication To Its Service To Cows During An Auspicious Shrimad Bhagavat Katha
Pujya Bhaishri narrated a divine Shrimad Bhagavat Katha from 11th February to 18th February 2011 in Kotharia, Surendranagar, at the request of Param Pujya Shri Vajabhagat. Shri Vajabhagat is well known for his dedication to gau seva (service to cows) in Kotharia and as a recipient of the Sandipani Vidyaniketan devarshi award. The chief host of this katha was the MP of Kankrej, Shri Babubhai Desai.
On the first day, a grand Shobha Yatra, in a magnificently decorated chariot, commenced from the square of Shri Ram Mandir. Thousands of people joined the Shobha Yatra singing the Lord’s name and bhajans and arrived at the katha venue.
Many saints within the region came to grace the katha. The auspicious lamp was lighted and the saints blessed everyone through their short divine speeches. Thereafter Pujya Bhaishri began narrating the katha interspersing it with melodious ancient bhajans. He also unravelled the meanings of several Sanskrit slokas in the Shrimad Bhagavat. Praising the land of Kotharia, Pujya Bhaishri said,
“This is the land which has provided gau seva and food to the needy for years. Food is bhrama (God) to those who are starving. Our Upanishadas say that Annam bhrameti vyakhanati, which meant that food is bhrama. Therefore it is pleasing to see that Shrimad Bhagavat Katha is supporting and continues to encourage services such as these.”
A mass wedding of two hundred and fifty girls was successfully arranged on the second day of the katha. In addition, Shri Krishna janmotsav was celebrated with great joy during the course of the katha.
