Pujya Bhaishri presents gems of spiritual wisdom during Bhagwat katha at Yavatmal
“Being in the proximity of saints and Gods enables one to become a loner or Nisang. And only when an individual becomes a loner does he become a true sadhak, a spiritual aspirant and a truly obliging servant of the society. The dominance of selfish instincts prevents people from becoming humanitarian and undertaking service to the humanity. The tree of humanitarian progress can take root and grow only in an atmosphere of selflessness,” said Pujya Bhaishri.
Such spiritually rich gems were presented by Pujya Bhaishri at his Bhagwat katha sessions held at Yavatmal, Maharashtra, India from 19th Oct. to 27th Oct. 2002. The katha was hosted by Shri Vijayji Darda who has made the service to humanity his main motto in life.
The Pothi-yatra of Shrimad Bhagwat began from the Dutta Mandir at 10 a.m. amidst the musical sounds of Dhol, Mridang, etc. and after winding through the various streets of Yavatmal for almost two and a half hours it reached the katha venue where it was warmly welcomed with great devotion and enthusiasm. At various places on the way people welcomed the Pothiji and offered floral tributes to the Shrimad Bhagwat and to Pujya Bhaishri.
A large number of people from surrounding villages came to the kathasthal to listen to the inspiring words of Pujya Bhaiji. All important events of the katha were celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor. Shri Krishna Janmotsav was celebrated on the sixth day. A large number of people participated in these utsavs including the Govardhan utsav and Rukmini vivaha.
Shri Chhagan Bhujbal the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Kripashankar the Home minister of Maharashtra and other celebrities attended the katha on different days as per their convenience. A notable feature of this katha was that a large number of Muslims also came to hear the katha. They also offered their Puja to Shrimad Bhagwat and Pujya Bhaiji.
During the katha, Pujya Bhaiji emphasized the humanitarian aspect of the katha and said, “The real importance of katha was in its ability to invoke the God that is within each of us with the light of its knowledge.” He further said, “In order to tackle the present day problem of terrorism what is needed is not retaliation but increasing our spiritual understanding. Our ancient sages have presented solutions for all human problems in our Purans but we are in a miserable condition because we have ignored our scriptures. That is the only reason why people today do not find solutions to their problems though they search for it everywhere.”
The reports of the katha and the gems of spiritual wisdom of Pujya Bhaishri were very extensively reported in the ‘Lokmat’ the most widely read daily of the region.
