Pujya Bhaishri’s Katha Flows To The Scenic Foothills Of Greenville, South Carolina, USA
Pujya Bhaishri narrated the divine Bhagavat katha in Greenville, South Carolina from 18th June to 25th June 2011. The katha was organized and hosted by the Vedic Centre of Greenville to promote spiritual education in the Southeast and in particular to encourage our youth to participate and understand in the Hindu dharma.
On the first day, the grand Shobha Yatra of the Pothiji set out at 3:30pm. Pujya Bhaishri, the pothiji and the Yatra were provided a warm reception on arriving at the katha venue. Thereafter, the chief host of the katha, Shri Jayantibhai P. Rama, Sadhvi Bhagwatiji, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji (HH Pujya Muniji) and the Mayor of Greenville, Mr. Knox White, welcomed Pujya Bhaishri and extended their blessings in their inaugural speeches. Pujya Bhaishri then began to narrate the Shrimad Bhagavat Katha.
Shri Krishna janma was celebrated with great zeal and zest at 12am on 22nd June. Shri Govardhan pooja and Shri Rukmini vivah were also celebrated amidst lots of joy and fun during the course of the katha. Elaborate arrangements for all three meals were made for the attendees during the eight days of the katha by volunteers of the Vedic Centre and volunteers from the Ambaji Shree Shakti Mandir. In addition, a question and answer youth session was organised for children and teenagers with Pujya Bhaishri on 21st June.
On 25th June, the President of the Vedic Centre, Shri Prafulbhai Veer, and the Trustee, Shri Geeraben Desai, thanked all the volunteers and invited them on stage to receive Pujya Bhaishri’s blessings. Shri Dharmendrabhai J. Rama was particularly acknowledged for his dedication and service to the Vedic Centre and leading the community to organize all the arrangements for the katha.
The devotees and attendees of Greenville were filled with divine bliss from the katha, but at the same time, were sad to see the end to such a delightful experience and bid goodbye to Pujya Bhaishri.
