There are three types of Maya (illusions):
1. Svajan mohini maya – this is a good type of illusion which affects God’s devotees;
2. Vimukh jan mohini maya – an illusion that affects those who are averse from God; and
3. Svamohini maya – This type of illusion affects Shri Krishna himself. Now, who is God charmed by? This is Shri Radhika, who charms Shri Krishna; who Shri Krishna is dependent on.
Generally, the whole world is under the control of Maya, but God is under the control of this svamohini Maya.
Radhe tu badbhaagini, tune kon tapasya kin,
Tin lok taaran taran, so tumhre aadhin.
This means:
Radhe you are very lucky, what penance have you performed such that,
The Supreme Being who is the saviour of the universe, is under your control.
Let us all remember Shri Radhaji by singing along to this bhajan:
Shri Krishna keeps chanting Radhe Radhe. Radha and Madhav are also present in the word Ram: Ram means Radha and M means Madhusudhan. Therefore the union of Radha and Madhusudan is Ram.
Shri RadhaMadhav couple is divine. This svamohini maya is always present with God. How fortunate would we be if she showered her mercy upon us. Oh dear daughter of Vrishbhanuji, bless us with your mercy, give us the love for the divine lotus feet of Shri Krishna.
In the holy book of Gargasamhita, there is a katha where once the queens of Shri Krishna thought, “why does God keep saying Radha Radha?”
God found out this feeling that his queens had. So he performed a leela.
One night, God could not sleep. He kept tossing and turning in bed. Shri Satyabhama and the other queens asked God the reason and Shri Krishna replied, “Radhika has the habit of drinking milk before she goes to bed. But today she has not been able to have any milk hence she cannot sleep. Thus, I cannot sleep as I am worried about her.”
Immediately, one of the queens got up and angrily took very hot milk to Radhika with the message to drink it as God has sent the milk. On hearing that God has sent the milk, Radha Maa drank the boiling milk without hesitation.
On the other hand, Shri Krishna developed blisters on his feet. The queens saw this and asked God about the blisters. Shri Krishna replied,
“my lotus feet always reside in the lotus heart of Shri Radhika. They are so much bound by her devotion that they will not leave her heart even for four fifths of a second. The hot milk you gave her caused these blisters on my feet.”
It is written in the Shrimad Bhagavat that God’s holy lotus feet are bound by love and devotion. Such is the divine love of Shri Radha Rani.
Many felicitations to all on this auspicious occasion of the birth of Shri Radha Rani.
Jai Shri Radha Rani!
