Raksha Bandhan, one of the divine festivals that falls during Shravan month, was celebrated in the inspiring presence and guidance of Pujya Bhaishri on the full moon day of Shravan month, which fell on 20th August 2013.

Early in the morning, at the crack of dawn, Pujya Bhaishri, Rishikumars and the gathered guests performed a divine and ceremonial bath and the ritual of changing the sacred thread. Pujya Bhaishri then addressed everyone and said that this ceremony reminded us of the traditional customs followed by our Rishis. We perform this ritual along with worship of Maa Gayatri so that Brahmins do not forget their knowledge and its glory. Thereafter, all Brahmins had lunch.

In addition, Pujya Bhaishri tied Rakhis on the wrist of Shri Hari and all the deities in Shri Hari Mandir. The atmosphere reverberated with pious and spiritual chants of Vedic mantras recited by the Rishikumars. The event was made even more auspicious with abhishek and worship of Shri Chandramauleshwar Mahadev.
